It can be earned by any branch or military specialty, but can only be worn on U.S. Army uniforms. The badge features a rectangle with an M9 bayonet and M67 grenade, surrounded by an oak wreath and stars indicating subsequent awards. Originally intended for non-infantry soldiers fulfilling infantry duties, it was approved for all MOSs by the U.S. Army in 2005 and can be retroactively awarded to those who engaged in combat after September 18, 2001. The badge measures 2″ x 1″.
